About Burgas Cats

Burgas Cats is a small, non-commercial project. Every day we share one street cat from Burgas on the Black Sea — so locals and visitors can get to know the neighbourhood regulars, help name the nameless ones and pick a Cat of the Week.

How to behave around street cats

• Don't feed human food

  Salty, spicy or fatty leftovers make cats ill. If you want to help, leave fresh water or proper cat food in a clean spot.

• Don't pick them up

  Street cats aren't used to being held. They may scratch, get stressed, or lose their way back to their territory.

• Don't chase them

  Let the cat come to you. Watch from a distance, crouch down, and let them decide.
